We’re thrilled to welcome Erika Wimmer back to today’s episode. Erika, a former educator in the public school system for 14 years, taught every grade level in elementary education and served as an instructional coach and interventionist.
Growing dissatisfied with the public school system, Erika learned about the Hope Scholarship and microschools. She saw this as the perfect opportunity to start her own school. Securing a $10,000 grant, she set up her school in a local recreation center. However, on the same day, the Hope Scholarship was revoked, causing seven prospective students, all with Hope Scholarships, to withdraw their plans to attend Erika’s school.
Now that the Hope Scholarship is back in effect, we’re excited to have Erika back to provide an update on her microschool. Join us in this week’s episode as we explore microschools and discuss the impact of the Hope Scholarship on these schools and the families relying on it.
